What can you do for free on AI Tiny Desk?
You can explore the generator, choose a lead singer photo and prepare optional bandmates without buying credits. This lets you decide who belongs in each role before committing to a video. It does not produce a playable AI preview or include a free finished video. The pricing page lists the current credit cost and packs.
| Action | What it costs |
|---|---|
| Read guides and view the performance reference | Free |
| Choose photos and prepare your cast | Free; no generated video |
| Create one 19-second video | 20 credits when generation is available |
| Create another version with a different cast | Another 20 credits |
Check the generator's current availability before buying. A public page and a prepared draft do not mean paid generation is open.
How much should you budget?
At 20 credits per video, divide a pack's credits by 20 to find the number of videos it covers. The figures below use the listed USD pack prices checked on October 26, 2026. Confirm the current price and final checkout amount on the pricing page.
| Pack | Price / credits | Videos | Average per video |
|---|---|---|---|
| One take | $9.99 / 20 | 1 | $9.99 |
| Encore | $24.99 / 60 | 3 | $8.33 |
| Full set | $69.99 / 200 | 10 | About $7.00 |
These are one-time packs, with no subscription. The lower average in a larger pack only helps if you intend to use those videos. For one birthday joke or one group-chat clip, the smallest pack means a lower total spend.
Does adding four friends cost more?
One lead photo and a full five-person cast use the same 20 credits. The lead singer is required; keyboard, saxophone and two backing singers are optional. Every request uses the same 19-second, 480p portrait preset and 9:16 setting. You do not buy a separate video for each person. See the creation guide for the roles.
Budget for separate takes, not separate faces. One video starring your friend and another starring you are two generations. A successful result may differ from what you imagined; a fresh creative attempt is another paid generation. Choose the cast carefully before submitting rather than buying a large pack on the assumption that every take will look identical.
What does “free” mean on other Tiny Desk sites?
Check what the offer actually unlocks. A free account, free prompt or small signup balance does not by itself cover a finished video. Compare the effect's charge with the credits supplied, and check whether the promised export is the format you want.
For example, Visual Maker AI makes its prompt free to copy but charges a Video Pass for a generated concert. VidMello explicitly says its Tiny Desk generation is paid and signup includes no free credits. These are their published terms checked on October 26, 2026; we have not purchased or tested their generation services.
What happens to your credits if generation fails?
AI Tiny Desk returns the generation credits once a task is confirmed as failed. A task still being checked is not yet a confirmed failure. If the connection drops after submission, check My videos before starting another take: a request may already have been accepted even if the page did not show its confirmation.
Returned credits stay in your account balance. A refund to your payment method is a separate request reviewed against payment status and credit use. Read the refund policy; do not assume a failed task automatically sends money back to your card.
Make the first paid attempt count
Start with one clear adult portrait per selected role and permission to use each photo. The photo guide explains which pictures to prepare. Review the selected cast, 19-second 480p format and 20-credit charge, continue with Google, and check that generation is available. When comparing alternatives, use the generator comparison to check the actual scene, duration and sound as well as price.
